HP Victus 16 Review: Superb Budget Gaming Laptop by Slow Screen

While buying a budget gaming laptop. you have to think a lot because of its high price and your low budget. To start with people will probably be looking at configurations that top out with an RTX 4050 or RTX 4060 GPU.

These will be an all-plastic chassis with one- or four-zone RGB lighting, rather than a sleeker, more rigid aluminum enclosure with per-key backlighting HP Victus 16. It’s expected to cost around $1,000.

The HP Victus 16 could also be an option due to the above tradeoffs. but the HP Victus 16 also brings to the bargaining table a display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. And many budget gaming models offer faster 144Hz or 165Hz displays. so you should reject this. Our HP Victus 16 test system is a fixed configuration priced at $1,450. which is too expensive to be stuck with a slow display.

HP has offered customizable models for the Victus 16 with faster panels. its prices are out of your budget range and in the midrange area. you can expect better designs and more features. With sharp displays, high frame rates, and low prices, Acer’s Predator Helios Neo 16 and Nitro 16 are great budget-friendly options for people looking for an affordable 1080p rig.

This HP Victus 16 test system (model 16-R0097nr) is priced around $1,450 and this system has an Intel Core i7-13700H processor, 16GB RAM, RTX 4050 graphics, and 1TB SSD. There are boxier 16-inch displays with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The HP Victus 16’s display is a 16.1-inch panel with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. That is said to be a better fit for games. But this 60Hz refresh rate is not suitable for games as the display goes out of sync. if the frame rate goes above 60 frames per second. The Victus 16 laptop with its RTX 4050 is capable of exceeding that number.

HP offers customizable configurations with both AMD and Intel CPUs. Some configurations feature a baseline 60Hz display. And many have 144Hz or 165Hz displays.

On the AMD side, both the AMD Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series options are available. Systems based on AMD models Ryzen 5 7640HS and RTX 3050 graphics start at around $1,110 and systems with Ryzen 5 8645HS and RTX 3050 graphics start at around $1,200. Paired with AMD Ryzen 8000 series processors you can upgrade up to RTX 4070 GPU.
